health: 21% of Nicaraguans do not have access to clean water. 53% do not have access to sanitation. 10% of Nicaraguan children suffer from malnutrition.

economy: 45.1% of Nicaraguans live on less than a dollar a day. 48% of Nicaraguans live in poverty. Nicaraugua has the 5th highest level of income inequality in the world. (The wealthiest 20% of the population receives 27.5 times more income than the poorest 20%).

culture: The official language, spoken by almost all Nicaraguans, is Spanish. 72.9% of the total population is Roman Catholic. 15.1% of Nicaraguans are Evangelical Christians. 32.5% of Nicaraguans are illiterate.
