Haiti Update 1/22/10

These photos from the United Nations, Red Cross, and the U.S. military show the magnitude of the need in Haiti after the earthquake.

1/22/10—One of the first Calvary Chapel teams reached Haiti this past Sunday via the Dominican Republic and were able to do much hands on ministry; bringing prayer and comfort, as well as supplies to those in such great need. They were also able to secure much needed medical supplies for setting bones, morphine, and antibiotics and get them to triage areas. This team returns to the U.S. this weekend. A combined CC Old Bridge, NJ,  CC Costa Mesa, CA,  Cornerstone CC, NJ, Castle Rock CC, CO team will go into Jacmel, Haiti, this Sunday, January 24,  with the specific goal of establishing a long-term base of operations. One goal is to see if it is possible to deploy the tents, huts, and other resources stored after the ministry at Bay St. Louis ended.  Other organizations dedicated to feeding programs are being asked to join this endeavor. Chet Lowe, outreach pastor from CC Fort Lauderdale and Patmos Ministries, is coordinating cargo transport via boat out of Florida.
