Harvest America—Praying for a nationwide spiritual awakening as we proclaim, via technology, Jesus’ offer of salvation
Story by Tom Price
Then He [Jesus] said to them, “The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Luke 10:2
“This is the biggest endeavor we have ever attempted,” confided Greg Laurie, senior pastor of Harvest Christian Fellowship in Riverside, CA, and founder of Harvest Crusades. “I am humbly asking for everyone’s prayers.” With hopes for a nationwide spiritual awakening and revival, Harvest America is seeking to realize that vision by utilizing today’s technology to proclaim Jesus’ offer of salvation through Him. The Harvest Crusade at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, CA, will connect to host sites elsewhere using live online streaming and satellite broadcast technology.
More than 1,200 fellowships have signed up to co-host the event at their facilities across the U.S. The one-night evangelical outreach will be held on Sunday, August 26, at 4 p.m. PDT. People in many other countries will participate as well. Since Harvest Crusades began in 1990, more than four million people have attended in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the U.S.
